“The WELL Building Standard is a brilliant certification scheme to help us all become the best versions of ourselves,” says Michael Brogden, operational director at Darren Evans.
“The built environment should enable all of us to thrive.
“This scheme is concerned with the wellbeing of the people who spend time in the building. It ensures buildings nurture their physical and mental health.”
Functioning in a similar way to BREEAM, WELL:
- Is a performance-based system for commercial buildings. It measures and certifies features of buildings that impact human health and wellbeing through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.
- It marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based medical and scientific research – harnessing buildings and communities as a vehicle to support human wellbeing.
- WELL can be applied across many building types and sectors, from brand new restaurants to office building renovations. It applies to new and existing buildings, new and existing interiors, as well as core and shell
